Congress Releases 11th List For Lok Sabha Polls, Y S Sharmila Reddy To Fight From Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa

Lok Sabha Polls 2024: The recent list features eight candidates from Odisha, five from Andhra Pradesh, three from Bihar, and one from West Bengal.

With the Lok Sabha Polls 2024 dates approaching fast, Congress on Tuesday unveiled another list of 17 candidates, nominating Y S Sharmila Reddy, the state unit chief, to contest the Kadapa seat in Andhra Pradesh.

Taking to X, Congress wrote: "11th list of names of Congress candidates for Lok Sabha elections, 2024 in the meeting of 'Central Election Committee' held under the chairmanship of Congress President Kharge"

The recent list features eight candidates from Odisha, five from Andhra Pradesh, three from Bihar, and one from West Bengal.

The Congress party, as part of the seat-sharing agreement with the grand alliance in Bihar, has declared candidates for three out of the nine allocated seats. Mohammed Jawed, the incumbent Congress MP, will contest from the Kishanganj Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, veteran leader Tariq Anwar has been nominated as the candidate for the Katihar seat.

Kadiyam Kavya On Congress's 10th Lok Sabha Polls

On Monday, the grand old party had released its 10th list of lok sabha candidates. In the list, the party fielded Abhay Kashinath Patil from Akola, Maharashtra, and Kadiyam Kavya is set to fight the upcoming elections from Warangal, Telangana.

On Friday of last week, the Congress party unveiled its ninth list comprising five candidates for the upcoming elections. CP Joshi has been nominated to contest from the Bhilwara constituency in Rajasthan, while Damodar Gurjar will represent the party in the Rajsamand constituency of the same state. 

Meanwhile, in a significant display of unity, leaders from 18 major parties forming the I.N.D.I.A. bloc gathered for the 'Loktantra Bachao' (Save Democracy) rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. They strongly criticized the arrests of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, urging alliance partners to come together in the national interest.

The Lok Sabha elections are slated to take place in seven phases, commencing on April 19 and concluding on June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
