Upset Over Ticket Denial, BJP Leader Sadananda Gowda To Reveal His Political Move On Wednesday

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP D V Sadananda Gowda had earlier announced his decision to retire from electoral politics, but stayed citing pressure to contest the election once more.

New  Delhi: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP DV Sadananda Gowda on Tuesday said that both the Congress and the BJP have approached him and he will take a decision at an appropriate time. Upset over being denied the ticket to contest from Bangalore North, the 71-year-old former Union Minister, said he has planned to call a press meet on Wednesday to share everything.  

When asked whether BJP high command has contacted him, he said, "I will share everything tomorrow, or else there will be nothing to say tomorrow", PTI quoted Gowda as saying.

Former Karnataka BJP President D V Sadananda Gowda, on Monday said he will share his inner feelings soon. He expressed dissatisfaction over not receiving renomination and voiced criticism against certain party leaders without taking names. The BJP shifted Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shobha Karandlaje, from her current Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency to contest from Bangalore North.

Decision To Retire From Electoral Politics: Gowda

Earlier, Sadananda Gowda had earlier announced his decision to retire from electoral politics, but stayed citing pressure to contest the election once more. Notably, Gowda, belonging to the Vokkaliga community in Karnataka, met the leaders of the 'Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha' on Tuesday. 

"Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha President and all its office bearers had sought an appointment to meet me, wanting to talk to me, but I said I myself will come to meet them", Gowda said after the meeting.      

"They have shared certain things with me. I don't want to divulge things now. I have called a press meet tomorrow, I will share all matters there", he added, as per PTI.

D. Hanumanthaiah, the President of 'Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha,' has voiced strong support for D V Sadananda Gowda, praising his contributions to both government and party affairs. " Why is the ticket not given to him (Gowda)?  Whichever the party may be, if they give less tickets to the community or neglect the community, we will fight", he said.

He pointed out to community leaders like D K Shivakumar in the Congress not being made the Chief Minister, and BJP not giving tickets to Gowda, Prathap Simha  and C T Ravi.
