Lok Sabha Elections: LJP (Ramvilas) Announces 5 Candidates In Bihar, Chirag Paswan To Contest From Hajipur

The LJP (Ramvilas) released a list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Lok Sabha Elections: Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) on Saturday released a list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Party Chief Chirag Paswan to contest from Hajipur.

Chirag Paswan on Thursday exuded confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) success in Bihar and asserted that there is no doubt about winning all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Speaking to reporters, the LJP (Ramvilas) chief said, "We will get 40 out of 40 seats in Bihar. There is no doubt about it. In 2019, when we were three parties, we won 39 seats out of 40. And as of today, we are five parties, and the enthusiasm among the people shows that we will easily cross the target of 40 seats in Bihar and 400 seats in the country," as quoted by news agency ANI. On Thursday, Chirag Paswan met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and state deputy CM Samrat Choudhary in Patna.

On March 18, the ruling NDA announced seat-sharing in Bihar for the Lok Sabha polls, with the BJP set to contest 17 seats and JD-(U) 16. Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will contest one seat each. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest five seats.

Meanwhile, the opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc on Thursday reached a consensus on seat sharing in Bihar for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal is likely to contest on 26 seats while the Congress will feild its candidates on nine seats, sources told ABP News. The left parties are expected to get five seats in 40-seat Bihar. The RJD is likely to get the Purnia Lok Sabha seat, which was expected to be contested by Congress candidate Pappy Yadav, who recently merged his party JJP with the grand old party.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases starting from April 19 and go on till June 1. The votes will be counted on June 4.
