Lok Sabha Polls: DMK Seals Deal With CPI, CPI(M). Both Parties To Contest On 2 Seats
CPI and CPI(M) will contest on two seats in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has sealed the seat sharing deal with Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Both the parties will contest on two seats. The DMK, in an official release on Thursday, said that the seat-sharing talks have been finalised and the decision arrived upon.
The M K Stalin-led DMK, which leads the multi-party Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) in the state, had earlier shared one seat each to its allies IUML and Kongu Desiya Murpokku Kazhagam (KMDK) for the upcoming polls.
In the 2019 general elections also, the two Left parties had contested on two seats each only and both the parties won all the four seats contested by them.

Currently, CPI (M) represents Madurai and Coimbatore, CPI has MPs from Tiruppur and Nagapattinam (SC).
Last week, Congress had announced its seat sharing deal with the Aam Aadmi Party Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Goa.
In Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP will contest on four seats while Congress will keep remaining three seat with itself while in Gujarat, the grand old party will field candidates on 24 seats and the AAP will contest on two seats—Bharuch and Bhavnagar.
In Haryana, Congress has agreed to keep 10 seats for the electoral contest with it and the AAP will field its candidate on one seat, Kurukshetra.
In Chandigarh, Congress will contest on the lone seat, while in Goa, it will field candidates on both seats.
Earlier this month, Congress reached a deal with the Samajwadi Party wherein the grand old party will contest on 17 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the SP and other parties will fight on 63 seats in the state.
