Lok Sabha Elections 2019: India is all set to face 17th Lok Sabha Election which is scheduled to begin from next month. The stakes are high for political parties and leaders as over 850 million voters who would exercise their franchise to decide the fate of the country for the next five years. The Election Commission of India has announced the poll dates for impending elections and has decided to hold Assembly polls in some states simultaneously with Lok Sabha Elections.
Elections for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assemblies will be held along with the Lok Sabha polls, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced on Sunday.
In Andhra Pradesh, elections to the 175 Assembly seats and the 25 Lok Sabha seats, which will see a single-phase election, will be held on April 11, 2019. Results to the Assembly and Lok Sabha Elections will be announced on May 23, 2019, with the counting of votes taking place on the same day.
In the past, the state has witnessed bipolar politics as there has been neck-to-neck fight between the Congress and N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party.
