BJP Chief Nadda on Sunday tore into the Congress government in the state and called it "corrupt, incompetent, and unimaginable". He asked people at a rally if this government deserves another tenure.
Chhattisgarh Elections: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Sunday called CM Bhupesh Baghel-led Chhattisgarh government "corrupt, incompetent, unbelievable" and "unimaginable", adding that the present Congress regime has "no right" to remain in power., reported PTI. Addressing the 'Booth Vijya Sankalp Abhiyan' programme in Amlidih area under Raipur Rural constituency, he said that the grand old party cheated people of the state.
Explaining why he called the Chhattisgarh government "unimaginable", he said that no one has ever seen the secretary of a CM in jail for years.
"We have been watching Bhupesh Baghel's corrupt, incompetent, unbelievable and unimaginable government. I say unbelievable because have you ever seen the secretary of a CM lodged in jail for years. What evidence does one need when corruption is written on the forehead," Nadda said, as quoted by PTI.
Saumya Chaurasia, a state cadre officer posted as deputy secretary in Chief Minister's Office, was last year arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged coal levy scam.
Nadda went on to question Congress's promises and asked it women got Rs 500 per month. "This (Congress) government cheated youth or not? Did the women get Rs 500 (each month)? A liquor scam happened or not? Bhupesh Baghel had promised to ban liquor. Instead of banning it, he committed a scam. He committed a scam in recruitment (for government jobs) and he did not even spare cow and cow dung, Nadda added.
He said, "Such a corrupt government does not have the right to remain in power. According to PTI, Nadda asked his party workers to reach out to voters.
"You all should request people that they must cast their vote and you have to motivate them for it. Whether they vote in your favour or not, but to strengthen the democracy, you all should urge them to vote," he said, quoted PTI.
Polling for the 20 assembly seats of the state will be held in the first phase on November 7 and the other 70 seats will vote in second phase on November 17.
