'We Made A Tribal Daughter India's President. Congress Disrespected Her': PM Modi In Poll-Bound Chhattisgarh
In Chhattisgarh, voting will take place in two stages. On November 7, 2023, the first phase of voting for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh will take place.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an electoral rally in Chhattisgarh's Naxalite-infested Kanker district on Thursday. Speaking at the rally, PM Modi stated: "The election is not just to elect an MLA, or Chief Minister, but it is an election to decide your and your children's future."
Slamming Congress over runing a campaign against President Murmu, PM Modis said: "When we (BJP) decided to make 'daughter from a tribal family' the candidate for President of the country, Congress disrespected and ran campaigns against her. This was not against the BJP but against the daughter of tribals. So, tribals in Chhattisgarh should remember this and punish the Congress party."

"You have seen the failure of the Congress government in the last five years. In these years only Congress leaders and their relatives saw development in their assets as their number of bungalows and cars increased. What did the poor, Dalit, backward, tribal families of Kanker and Bastar get?" he further stated.
PM Modi further attacked Congress stating that the party's "policy is 'parivarvaad', nepotism and corruption."
"The people of the state and BJP worked together for the formation of Chhattisgarh. Till the time the Congress government ruled they kept fighting with the BJP government here. But we still worked for the development of the state," he stated.
