'If Congress Wins...': After Akbar Remark Row, Assam CM Himanta Invokes Babar & Aurangzeb In Poll-Bound MP
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also said that atrocities will begin on the people once the Congress comes to power.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednsday said that voting for Congress means encouraging the "Babars and the Aurangzebs" in the country. He also said that atrocities will begin on the people once the Congress comes to power. He cited the example of Karnataka, where Congress has been voted to power and urged people reject the "Hindutva of Chunavi Congress".
"Voting for Congress means encouraging the 'Babars' in the country. When Congress gets votes, 'Aurangzebs' get vitamins. If Congress wins, the Babars and Aurangzeb will start their atrocities on our people all over India. Congress won in Karnataka and from where the Babars and Aurangzebs got oxygen, I don't know, the chaos started. Congress wins and their mischiefs begin immediately. This is their politics... We have to reject the Hindutva of 'Chunavi' Congress...," said Sarma at an election rally in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa.

This is not the first time that Sarma had made such a comment. During an election rally in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha on October 18, Sharma had taken a controversial dig at Akbar, saying, "The land of Mata Kaushalya will get defiled if Akbar isn't sent off".
"If one Akbar comes to some place, he calls 100 Akbars. So, send him off as soon as possible, otherwise the land of Mata Kaushalya will get defiled," he added.
Soon after he made the remarks, the Election Commission sent a notice seeking an explanation in this regard.
"Now, therefore, you are hereby called upon to show cause by 17.00 hrs. of 30th October'2023 (Monday) as to why appropriate action for violation of Model Code of Conduct should not be taken against you," read the notice sent by EC to Sarma.
