Elections 2024: TDP Announces Third List Of 13 Lok Sabha, 11 Assembly Polls Candidates For Andhra Pradesh

On the candidate list, TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu said, "We have chosen candidates who can fight for the state and express a strong voice in the Parliament." 

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) announced the third list of candidates with 13 MPs and 11 MLA candidates for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections respectively on Friday. With this, TDP has announced 139 MLA and 13 MP seat candidates so far. Overall, Andhra Pradesh has 145 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats. 

Candidates for four Lok Sabha seats and five assembly seats are yet to be announced. In a post on X, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu said, "We joined NDA with the agenda of better prospects for the state and on the other hand we have chosen candidates who can fight for the state and express a strong voice in the Parliament." 

Naidu announced that a fresh slate of 11 Assembly candidates and 13 Lok Sabha candidates has been finalized following public input. In a notable move, Narasaraopeta YSRCP Lok Sabha member L Sri Krishna Devarayulu will run for re-election in the same constituency. Additionally, V Prabhakar Reddy, a YSRCP Rajya Sabha member, has been nominated as the party's candidate for the Nellore Lok Sabha seat.

The state Assembly elections are scheduled to coincide with the Lok Sabha polls on May 13.

Earlier, NDA constituents reached an agreement on the seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Parliamentary and Assembly polls. Under this arrangement, the BJP is set to contest six Lok Sabha seats and 10 assembly seats. Meanwhile, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Janasena party will contest two Lok Sabha seats and 21 assembly seats as part of the alliance agreement.
