Chhattisgarh Opinion Poll Live: Congress Projected To Comfortably Cross The Majority Mark With 48-54 Seats

Background

Hello and welcome to ABP Live CVoter Chhattisgarh Opinion Poll live blog, please follow this space for all the latest news and updates on the ABP Live CVoter Survey on Chhattisgarh opinion poll. Chhattisgarh is slated to undergo polls for its 90-member Legislative Assembly this year with Congress eyeing a second term and the Bharatiya Janata Party looking for a comeback. Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party will also make its debut for the polls this year.

In a two-faced competition between Congress and the BJP, unemployment, inflation, and corruption are some of the major issues that concern the voters of Chhattisgarh. Family income/poverty, educational system, women security, communal tensions, and other local issues are some other parameters on which the voters are expected to weigh their choices.

The BJP has already released its first list of 21 candidates which includes 5 women, and 1 and 10 members from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes respectively.

Durg MP, Vijay Baghel has been fielded against incumbent Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel.

The saffron party will have an uphill task to unseat the incumbent Congress in the state which formed the government with a sweeping majority of 68 seats in 2018. The BJP had won 15 seats while the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh secured 5 and Bahujan Samaj Party got two seats.

Methodology

Current survey findings and projections are based on CVoter Pre Poll personal interviews (Face to Face) conducted among 18+ adults statewide, all confirmed voters, details of which are mentioned right below the projections as of today. The data is weighted to the known demographic profile of the States. Sometimes the table figures do not sum to 100 due to the effects of rounding. Our final data file has Socio-Economic profile within +/- 1% of the Demographic profile of the State. We believe this will give the closest possible trends. The sample spread is across all Assembly segments in the poll bound state. MoE is +/- 3% at macro level and +/- 5% at micro level VOTE SHARE projection with 95% Confidence interval.
