Tiruvallur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Venugopal.P.(Dr) from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 323430 votes. The polling / voting in Tiruvallur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s Ponnusamy Venugopal and Congress Party#s Dr. K Jayakumar

Tiruvallur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Tiruvallur Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 73.67% Lok Sabha percent with 75.70% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Tiruvallur, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Venugopal.P.(Dr) of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Ravikumar.D by a margin of 323430 votes.

  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated DMK candidate with a difference of 13435 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader V. Govindaswamy Naidu attained 157343 votes and DMK candidate M. Gopal bagged 143908 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 55280 votes INC candidate R. Govindarajulu Naidu had got 120363 while IND got A. Raghava Reddy votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 29280 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Margatham Chandrasekar attained 110265 votes and IND candidate Guruswami bagged 80985 votes

After a drastic fall in the pass percentage for the last two years, 79.76 per cent students who took Class XII examinations of the Bihar School Examination Board this year have passed, results announced on Saturday showed.

Rohini Rani of St Teressa Girls High School High School, Bettiah and Manish Kumar of Gaya College Gaya scored 92.6% and 463 marks. Besides, this year, the toppers of Bihar Board inter result scored better than 2018 toppers.
