Background

Saran: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rajiv Pratap Rudy from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 40948 votes. The polling / voting in Saran constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Rashtriya Janata Dal#s Chandrika Rai

Saran 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 22 out of the 40 parliamentary seat with 29.4 percent vote share while the Lok Janshakti Party managed to win just 6 seats with a 6.4 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Saran Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 56.10% Lok Sabha percent with 54.11% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 58.45% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 19163 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 11 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Saran, 9 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Rajiv Pratap Rudy of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Rabri Devi by a margin of 40948 votes.

  • 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha election, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 51815 votes RJD candidate Lalu Prasad had got 274209 while BJP got Rajiv Pratap Rudy votes.
  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 59118 votes BJP candidate Guharam Ajgalle had got 242575 while INC got Parasram Bhardwaj votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 51759 votes BJP candidate P. R. Khute had got 281769 while INC got Parasram Bhardwaj votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 6387 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate with a difference of 33277 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Paras Ram Bhardwaj attained 218055 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Dauram Ratnakar bagged 184778 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 45012 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Paras Ram Bharadwaj attained 149987 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Resham Lal Jangde (Persadih) bagged 104975 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Independent candidate by a margin of 71215 votes INC candidate Parasram Bhardwaj had got 223385 while IND got Pooranlal Jangde votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Parasram Bharadwaj attained 232861 votes and BJP's Reshamlal Jangde bagged 67682 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Parasram Ram Prasad attained 155466 votes and JNP's Govindram Miri bagged 50857 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 12176 votes. Here, BLD leader Govind Ram Miri attained 116030 votes and INC candidate Gondil Prasad Anuragi bagged 103854 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 44937 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Jhulan Sinha attained 68062 votes and IND candidate Vidyabhushan Shukla bagged 23125 votes

शाम 5 बजे तक उत्तर प्रदेश में 53 फीसदी वोटिंग दर्ज की गई है और वाराणसी में भी शाम 5 बजे तक 53 फीसदी वोटिंग हुई है. यूपी की 13 सीटों पर शाम 5 बजे तक 53.19 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ है.

शाम 5 बजे तक के वोटिंग के आंकड़े आ गए हैं और जिन 8 राज्यों की 59 सीटों पर वोटिंग हो रही है उनपर 53.03 फीसदी वोटिंग हुई है. बिहार में 46.75 फीसदी, हिमाचल प्रदेश में 57.43 फीसदी, मध्य प्रदेश में 59.75 फीसदी मतदान दर्ज किया गया है. पंजाब में 50.49 फीसदी, उत्तर प्रदेश में 47.21 फीसदी, पश्चिम बंगाल में 64.87 फीसदी वोटिंग रिकॉर्ड की गई है. झारखंड में सबसे ज्यादा 66.64 फीसदी मतदान रिकॉर्ड किया गया है और चंडीगढ़ में 51.18 फीसदी मतदान दर्ज किया गया है.

दोपहर 3 बजे तक के वोटिंग के आंकड़े आ गए हैं और जिन 59 सीटों पर वोटिंग हो रही है वहां 51.95 फीसदी वोटिंग प्रतिशत रिकॉर्ड किया गया है. बिहार में 46.66 फीसदी मतदान हुआ है और हिमाचल प्रदेश में 49.43 फीसदी मतदान हुआ है. मध्य प्रदेश में 57.27 फीसदी वोटिंग हुई है और पंजाब में 48.18 फीसदी मतदान प्रतिशत रिकॉर्ड किया गया है. उत्तर प्रदेश में 46.07 फीसदी वोटिंग हुई है और पश्चिम बंगाल में 63.58 फीसदी वोटिंग हुई. झारखंड में 64.81 फीसदी और चंडीगढ़ में 50.24 फीसदी मतदान दर्ज किया गया है.
