The polling / voting in Sangrur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Shiromani Akali Dal#s Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Congress Party#s Kewal singh dhillon

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Indian National Congress won 3 out of the 13 parliamentary seat with 33.1 percent vote share while the Shiromani Akali Dal managed to win just 4 seats with a 20.3 percent vote share.

Out of the 21 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Sangrur, 19 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Bhagwant Mann of the Aam Aadmi Party as he defeated Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa by a margin of 211721 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, SAD(M) candidate had defeated Shiromani Akali Dal candidate by a margin of 86317 votes SAD(M) candidate Simranjit Singh Mann had got 298846 while SAD got Surjit Singh Barnala votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate had defeated SAD(M) candidate by a margin of 82165 votes SAD candidate Surjit Singh Barnala had got 297393 while SAD(M) got Simranjit Singh Mann votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate had defeated SAD(M) candidate by a margin of 75652 votes SAD candidate Surjeet Singh Barnala had got 238131 while SAD(M) got Simaranjeet Singh Mann votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, SAD(M) candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SAD(M) candidate Rajdev Singh attained 242443 votes and CPM's Chand Singh bagged 137900 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Shiromani Akali Dal counterpart with a difference of 7615 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SAD candidate Surjit Singh attained 291371 votes and INC's Ranjit Singh bagged 126322 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Communist Party of India (Marxist) and SAD; here Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated his SAD counterpart with a difference of 210 votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, ADS candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 98212 votes ADS candidate N. Kaur had got 174371 while INC got R. Singh votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 17269 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ranjit Singh attained 133018 votes and IND candidate Pritam Singh bagged 115749 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 13818 votes. Here, Independent leader Ranjit Singh attained 70569 votes and INC candidate Bhagwan Singh bagged 56751 votes

विश्व कप 2019 के पहले मुकाबले में इंग्लैंड क्रिकेट टीम ने साउथ अफ्रीका को 104 रन से हरा दिया. टॉस हारकर पहले बल्लेबाजी करने उतरी इंग्लैंड की टीम ने 50 ओवर में 8 विकेट के नुकसान पर 311 रनों का विशाल स्कोर खड़ा किया जिसके जवाब में साउथ अफ्रीका की टीम 39.5 ओवर में 207 रन बनाकर ऑलआउट हो गई.
