Background

Ranchi: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ram Tahal Choudhary from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 199303 votes. The polling / voting in Ranchi constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sanjay Seth and Congress Party#s Subodh kant sahay

Ranchi 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Ranchi Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 63.68% Lok Sabha percent with 64.79% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 62.45% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 6900 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 28 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ranchi, 26 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Ram Tahal Choudhary of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Subodh Kant Sahay by a margin of 199303 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 15421 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay attained 284035 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ram Tahal Choudhary bagged 268614 votes
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Ram Tahal Choudhary attained 379261 votes and INC's K K Tewari bagged 138084 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Ramtahal Choudhary attained 398022 votes and INC's Keshav Mahto Kamlesh bagged 254442 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 39292 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Ram Tahal Choudhary attained 215278 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Keshwa Mahto Kamlesh bagged 175986 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Ram Tahal Choudhary attained 223824 votes and JD's Awadhesh Kumar Singh bagged 104247 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 14986 votes. Here, JD leader Subodh Kant Sahay attained 163919 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ram Tahal Choudhary bagged 148933 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sheo Prasad Sahu attained 162945 votes and BJP's Ram Tahal Chowdhary bagged 54384 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 38126 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Shiva Prasad Sahu attained 106506 votes and JNP candidate Shiva Kumar Sinha bagged 68380 votes
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 62716 votes BLD candidate Ravindra Verma had got 130938 while INC got Sheo Prasad Sahu votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 16420 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Prashant Kumar Ghosh attained 79497 votes and BJS candidate Rudra Pratap Sarangi bagged 63077 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and BJS here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his BJS counterpart with a difference of 4167 votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between SWA and INC here SWA candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 5023 votes.
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between JHP and INC here JHP candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 2240 votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SP candidate with a difference of 11391 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Abdul Ibrahim attained 43576 votes and SP candidate Ajit Nath Banerjee bagged 32185 votes

अमेठी की नवनिर्वाचित सांसद स्मृति ईरानी ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में ये चुनाव लड़ा गया और शानदार जीत दिलाने के साथ ही लोगों ने अपना भरोसा हम पर जताया है. हमारा संगठन हमेशा से पंक्ति में आखिरी खड़े व्यक्ति तक समस्त संसाधन पहुंचाना चाहता है. अमेठी में काम करने के लिए मुझे दिशानिर्देश मिला और मैंने उसका पालन किया. मैंने कभी भी सिर्फ इस दृष्टि से अमेठी में काम करने के बारे में नहीं सोचा कि मुझे यहां से चुनाव लड़ना है और जीतना है. राहुल गांधी के लिए मैं यही कहना चाहती हूं कि वायनाड संसदीय क्षेत्र के रूप में उनको नई जिम्मेदारी मिली है और इसे वो अच्छे से निभाएं.

पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि 2024 से पहले देश को नई ऊंचाई पर ले जाना है. इसे मेरा संकल्प, मेरी प्रतिबद्धता मानिए कि मैं इस कार्य को संपूर्ण समर्पण से करूंगा. 2014 में जनता शायद मुझे उतना जानती नहीं थी लेकिन 2019 में आते आते जनता ने मुझे जाना है. मैं जनता को एक बार फिर से विश्वास दिलाना चाहता हूं कि मैं अपने लिए कुछ नहीं करूंगा. बद्नीयत और बद्इरादे से कोई काम नहीं करूंगा. मेरे शरीर का कण-कण देशवासियों और मेरे देश के लिए है.

पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि ये विजय आत्मसम्मान, आत्मगौरव के साथ एक शौचालय के लिए तड़पती हुई उस मां का विजय है. ये विजय उस बीमार व्यक्ति की है जो 4-5 साल से पैसों कमी की वजह से अपना उपचार नहीं करवा पा रहा था और आज उसका उपचार हो रहा है. ये उसके आशीर्वाद की विजय है. ये विजय देश के उन किसानों की है, जो पसीना बहाकर राष्ट्र का पेट भरने के लिए अपने को परेशान करता रहता है. ये उन 40 करोड़ असंगठित मजदूरों की विजय है, जिन्हें पेंशन योजना लागू करके सम्मानजनक जीवन जीने का अवसर मिला है. इस चुनाव ने 21वीं सदी के लिए एक मजबूत नींव हमारे सामाजिक, सार्वजनिक और राजनीतिक जीवन के लिए निर्मित की है.
