Background

Raipur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ramesh Bais from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 171646 votes. The polling / voting in Raipur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sunil Soni and Congress Party#s Pramod dubey

Raipur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 10 out of the 11 parliamentary seat with 48.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 1 seats with a 38.4 percent vote share.

Out of the 36 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Raipur, 34 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Ramesh Bais of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Satya Narayan Sharma (Sattu Bhaiya) by a margin of 171646 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 80060 votes BJP candidate Ramesh Bais had got 354736 while INC got Jugal Kishore Sahu votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 83379 votes BJP candidate Ramesh Bais had got 344380 while INC got Vidyacharan Shukl votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 50739 votes BJP candidate Ramesh Vaish had got 252990 while INC got Dhanender Sahu votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party; here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Bharatiya Janta Party counterpart with a difference of 959 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 84479 votes BJP candidate Ramesh Bais had got 271599 while INC got Kayer Bhushan votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kaiyur Bhushan attained 223192 votes and BJP's Ramesh Bais bagged 119151 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Independent candidate by a margin of 66309 votes INC(I) candidate Kayur Bhushan Mathura Prasad had got 140566 while IND got Pawan Diwan Sukhramdhar votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 83612 votes BLD candidate Purushottam Lal Kaushik had got 186296 while INC got Vidyacharan Shukla votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 84904 votes INC candidate Vidyacharan Shukla had got 138333 while BJS got Baburao Patel votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JAC candidate with a difference of 24415 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader L. Gupta attained 103863 votes and JAC candidate J. B. Kriplani bagged 79448 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JS candidate with a difference of 15391 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Keshar Kumari Devi attained 93807 votes and JS candidate Prayag Singh bagged 78416 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated PSP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Raja Birendra Bahadur Singh attained 192833 votes and PSP's Sinha Kashiprasad bagged 80378 votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated KMPP candidate with a difference of 26142 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Agamdas attained 116713 votes and KMPP candidate Keshao Prashad bagged 90571 votes

In the Class 10 ICSE examination, ten students have secured second rank with 99.40 percent marks, while the third rank has been shared by 24 students with 99.20 percent marks.

This is for the first time that is introducing the option of compartmental exam for students of both ICSE and ISC exams. Students have another opportunity to clear their ICSE or ISC exams.

The compartmental exams are scheduled to be conducted on July 5, 16 and 17, 2019. Results for the same that is compartmental exams will be on August 5, 2019.
