Perambalur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Marutharajaa, R.P. from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 213048 votes. The polling / voting in Perambalur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s N. R. Sivapathi and Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi#s T.R. Pachamuthu

Perambalur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Perambalur Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 80.19% Lok Sabha percent with 78.85% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 21 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Perambalur, 18 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Marutharajaa, R.P. of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Seemanur Prabu, S. by a margin of 213048 votes.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, DMK candidate Raja, A. attained 389708 votes and ADMK's Sundaram. Dr. M. bagged 236375 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate by a margin of 68051 votes DMK candidate Raja. A. had got 330675 while ADMK got Rajarethinam.P. votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate by a margin of 60436 votes ADMK candidate Rajarethinam, P had got 341118 while DMK got Raja A votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, DMK candidate Raja A attained 399079 votes and INC's Subramanian P.V bagged 184832 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Asokraj A. attained 375430 votes and DMK's Ramaswamy S.V. bagged 180480 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Asokaraj, A. attained 357565 votes and DMK's Panovaikaruthazhan, S. bagged 221389 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate S. Thangaraju attained 350549 votes and DMK's C. Thiyagarajan bagged 197780 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated ADK candidate by a margin of 99172 votes INC(I) candidate Mani K.B.S. had got 282767 while ADK got Thangaraju S. votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated DMK candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Asokaraj A. attained 326046 votes and DMK's J.S. Raju bagged 146019 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 61569 votes DMK candidate A. Durairasu had got 258724 while NCO got M. Ayyakunnu votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 33828 votes. Here, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader A. Durairasu attained 229941 votes and INC candidate P. K. Ramaswamy bagged 196113 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 55390 votes DMK candidate Era Sezhiyan had got 188926 while INC got M. Palaniyandi votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 65364 votes INC candidate M. Palaniandi had got 112497 while IND got V. Boovaraghaswamy Padayachi votes.
