Background

Morena: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Anoop Mishra from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 132981 votes. The polling / voting in Morena constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Narendra Singh Tomar and Congress Party#s ram niwas rawat

Morena 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 27 out of the 29 parliamentary seat with 54 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 34.9 percent vote share.

Out of the 17 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Morena, 14 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Anoop Mishra of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Brindawan Singh Sikarwar by a margin of 132981 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 62226 votes BJP candidate Ashok Chhaviram Argal had got 210790 while INC got Gopal Das votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate by a margin of 68121 votes BJP candidate Ashok Chhabiram had got 277499 while BSP got Pritam Prasad votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate with a difference of 37979 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Ashok Argal attained 172675 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Dr. Pritam Prasad Choudhary bagged 134696 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 16745 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Barelal Jatav attained 116227 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Chhaviram Argal bagged 99482 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 87861 votes BJP candidate Chhaviram had got 209381 while INC got Kammodilal votes.
