Machhlishahr: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ram Charitra Nishad from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 172155 votes. The polling / voting in Machhlishahr constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s V P Saroj and Bahujan Samaj Party#s Tribhuvan Ram

Machhlishahr 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 21159 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Chandra Nath Singh attained 201509 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Dr. Ram Vilas Vedanti bagged 180350 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Samajwadi Party candidate with a difference of 41534 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Chinmayanand attained 237895 votes and Samajwadi Party candidate Haribansh Singh bagged 196361 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 43130 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Ram Vilas Veddanti attained 215684 votes and JD candidate Lal Bahadur Yadav S/O Shiv Govind bagged 172554 votes
