Lalganj: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Neelam Sonkar from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 63086 votes. The polling / voting in Lalganj constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Nilam Sonkar and Bahujan Samaj Party#s Sangeeta

Lalganj 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Lalganj, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Neelam Sonkar of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Bechai Saroj by a margin of 63086 votes.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 35358 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Reena Chowdhary attained 182034 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Purnima Verma bagged 146676 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 11164 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Reena Chaudhary attained 200108 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Smt. Purnima Verma bagged 188944 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Samajwadi Party candidate with a difference of 32439 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Purnima Verma attained 164586 votes and Samajwadi Party candidate Suntvaksh Rawat bagged 132147 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated JP candidate with a difference of 10212 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Chhotey Lal attained 104516 votes and JP candidate Dinesh Kumar Alias D.K. Anand bagged 94304 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 18176 votes. Here, JD leader Sarju Prasad Saroj attained 162689 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Jagannath Prasad bagged 144513 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated LKD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Jagannath Pd attained 189704 votes and LKD's Ram Lal Kureel bagged 56655 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP(S) candidate with a difference of 43065 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Kailash Pati attained 111819 votes and JNP(S) candidate Ram Lal Kuril bagged 68754 votes
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Ram Lal Kuril attained 203445 votes and INC's Ganga Devi bagged 47703 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 59280 votes INC candidate Ganga Devi had got 105565 while NCO got Khayali Ram votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 35804 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader G. Devi attained 90283 votes and BJS candidate R. Baksh bagged 54479 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JS candidate with a difference of 44210 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ganga Devi attained 78752 votes and JS candidate Ram Baksh bagged 34542 votes

जगनमोहन रेड्डी का जादू विधानसभा चुनावों में साफ नजर आ रहा है. लोकसभा सीटों की तरह विधानसभा पर भी उनकी पार्टी सबसे बड़ी पार्टी बनकर उभरी है. कुल 175 विधानसभा सीटों में से YSRCP ने 150 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाई हुई है. वहीं, तेलुगु देसम को 24 सीटों पर बढ़त हासिल हुई है. इसके अलावा जनसेना पार्टी को एक सीट पर बढ़त मिल रही है.

शुरुआती रुझानों में वाईएसआर की भारी बढ़त, 88 सीटों पर आगे, टीडीपी के खाते में मात्र 12 सीट.

शुरुआती रुझानों के मुताबिक वाईएसआर के खाते में 25 सीटें गई है जबकि टीडीपी 5 सीटों पर बढ़त बनाए हुए हैं. राज्य में कुल 175 विधानसभा सीट है.
