The polling / voting in Kaliabor constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 7 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 36.5 percent vote share while the All India United Democratic Front managed to win just 3 seats with a 14.8 percent vote share.

• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated Asom Gana Parishad candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Tarun Gogoi attained 383822 votes and AGP's Keshab Mahanta bagged 151487 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Asom Gana Parishad and Indian National Congress here Asom Gana Parishad candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 1616 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Asom Gana Parishad candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Tarun Gogoi attained 295049 votes and AGP's Debeswar Bora bagged 170330 votes.

5 out of 19 injured are said to be in critical situation. Treatment underway at the nearby government hospital. Alert has been announced in Jammu.

Bomb squads have reached the spot and a liver of grenade has been found near the bus ticket booking counter.

After an interruption of a few hours, bus services have resumed in the area where the blast took place. Police have taken control of the entire area and travel services have resumed.
