Ganganagar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Nihalchand from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 291741 votes. The polling / voting in Ganganagar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Nihal Chand Chauhan and Congress Party#s Bharatram meghwal

Ganganagar 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 25 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 54.9 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 30.4 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 95886 votes BJP candidate Nihal Chand had got 358104 while INC got Er. Shankar Pannu votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 42761 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Eng. Shankar Pannu attained 335052 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Nihal Chand bagged 292291 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 55634 votes BJP candidate Nihal Chand had got 233112 while INC got Birbal Ram votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Birbal Ram attained 213338 votes and BJP's Dungar Ram Panwar bagged 101347 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 63533 votes JD candidate Bega Ram had got 307279 while INC got Heera Lal Indora votes.
