Dhar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Savitri Thakur from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 104328 votes. The polling / voting in Dhar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Chattar Singh Darbar and Congress Party#s Dinesh Girwal

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 27 out of the 29 parliamentary seat with 54 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 34.9 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Janata Dal (United) candidate with a difference of 39198 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Prof. I.G. Sanadi attained 355523 votes and Janata Dal (United) candidate B.M.Menasinkai bagged 316325 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, LS candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 86962 votes LS candidate B.M.Menasinakai had got 328333 while INC got Prof. I.G.Sanadi votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and JD here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his JD counterpart with a difference of 9609 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 73771 votes INC candidate B.M. Mujahid had got 231473 while BJP got B.G. Banakar votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 28648 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Mujahid B.M. attained 339235 votes and JD candidate B.G.Banakar bagged 310587 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 44851 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Naikar Dyamappa Kallappa attained 229865 votes and JNP candidate S. I. Shettar bagged 185014 votes
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Mohsin Fakruddinsab Hussensab attained 226083 votes and INC(U)'s Banakar Basavannappa Gadlappa bagged 75050 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SAD candidate Iqbal Singh Dhillon attained 261558 votes and INC's Swaran Singh bagged 143450 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, BJS candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 20621 votes. Here, BJS leader Bharatsingh attained 117437 votes and INC candidate Fatebhanusingh bagged 96816 votes
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, BJS candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 20510 votes. Here, BJS leader Bharatsingh attained 133435 votes and INC candidate Jamunadevi bagged 112925 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated REP candidate with a difference of 45332 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Tayappa Hari Sonavane attained 121716 votes and REP candidate Sidram Babaji Babar bagged 76384 votes
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 77937 votes INC candidate Neswi Thimmappa Rudrappa had got 143184 while IND got Patil Kallangowda Siddangouda votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated KMPP candidate with a difference of 41871 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Karmaka Dattatraya Parsuramrao attained 129077 votes and KMPP candidate Kambli Siddappa Totappa bagged 87206 votes
