Chamarajanagar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, R. Dhruvanarayana from Indian National Congress (INC) won the elections by a margin of 141182 votes. The polling / voting in Chamarajanagar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Srinivasa Prasad and Congress Party#s R.dhruva narayana

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 out of the 28 parliamentary seat with 43 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 9 seats with a 40.8 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Janata Dal (United) candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 16146 votes. Here, Janata Dal (United) leader V.Sreenivasaprasad attained 311547 votes and Indian National Congress candidate A.Siddaraju bagged 295401 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 70315 votes JD candidate Siddaraju. A. had got 340490 while INC got Sreenivasa Prasad. V. votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 23576 votes. Here, JD leader A Siddaraju attained 214745 votes and Indian National Congress candidate L H Balakrishna bagged 191169 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 68960 votes INC candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad had got 217735 while JD got H.C. Mahadevappa votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate V.Srinivasa Prasad attained 366922 votes and JD's Devanur Shivamallu bagged 213277 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 80653 votes INC candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad had got 240665 while JNP got G. N. Malleshaiah votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad attained 228748 votes and INC(U)'s B. Rachaiah bagged 118287 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 71618 votes INC candidate B. Rachaiah had got 214233 while BLD got V. Sreenivasa Prasad votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 72622 votes INC candidate S. M. Siddaiya had got 168894 while NCO got N. C. Biligirirangaiah votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SWA candidate with a difference of 28977 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S. M. Siddaiah attained 108831 votes and SWA candidate N. C. B. Rangaiah bagged 79854 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 47398 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S. M. Siddaiah attained 117810 votes and PSP candidate M. Shivanna bagged 70412 votes
