Bijapur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ramesh Jigajinagi from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 69819 votes. The polling / voting in Bijapur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi and Janata Dal (Secular)#s Sunitha Devanand Chavan

Bijapur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 out of the 28 parliamentary seat with 43 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 9 seats with a 40.8 percent vote share.

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bijapur, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Ramesh Jigajinagi of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Prakash Rathod by a margin of 69819 votes.

নয়াদিল্লি: বারাণসীতে কংগ্রেসের প্রার্থী হওয়ার বিষয়টি কংগ্রেস সভাপতি রাহুল গাঁধীর হাতে ছেড়ে দিলেন প্রিয়ঙ্কা গাঁধী বঢরা। কংগ্রেস সভাপতি বললেই বারাণসী থেকে নির্বাচনে লড়বেন বলে জানিয়েছেন প্রিয়ঙ্কা। তাঁকে ইতিমধ্যেই পূর্ব উত্তরপ্রদেশের সাংগঠনিক দায়িত্ব দিয়ে কংগ্রেস সাধারণ সম্পাদক পদে বসিয়েছেন রাহুল। গত মাসে প্রিয়ঙ্কার মন্তব্যেই বারাণসীতে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির বিরুদ্ধে তাঁর প্রার্থী হওয়ার জল্পনা তৈরি হয়। মা সনিয়া গাঁধীর কেন্দ্র রায়বরেলিতে দলীয় কর্মীদের সঙ্গে আলাপচারিতায় তিনি সেখানে প্রার্থী হচ্ছেন কিনা, প্রশ্ন করা হলে প্রিয়্ঙ্কা মন্তব্য করেন, কেন বারাণসী নয়! এ নিয়ে প্রবল জল্পনার মধ্যেই তাঁকে উদ্ধৃত করে সংবাদ সংস্থা এএনআই রবিবার জানায়, কংগ্রেস সভাপতি যদি বলেন, তবে বারাণসী থেকে লড়তে ভালই লাগবে।
