Ballia: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharat Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 139434 votes. The polling / voting in Ballia constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Virendra Singh Mast and Samajwadi Party#s Sanatan Pandey

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ballia, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Bharat Singh of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Neeraj Shekhar by a margin of 139434 votes.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, SJP(R) candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 55675 votes SJP(R) candidate Chandra Shekhar had got 235946 while BJP got Ram Krishna Urf Gopal votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, SJP(R) candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 29484 votes. Here, SJP(R) leader Chandra Shekhar attained 260544 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ram Krishna Urf Gopal bagged 231060 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, SAP candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SAP candidate Chandra Shekhar attained 305592 votes and INC's Jagannath bagged 118987 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, JP candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 58548 votes JP candidate Chandra Shekhar had got 213066 while INC got Jagannath Chaudhari votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 90981 votes JD candidate Chandra Shekhar had got 251997 while INC got Jagannath Chaudhary votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 53940 votes INC candidate Jagannath Chowdhari had got 225984 while JNP got Chandrashekhar votes.

अमित शाह के गृह मंत्री का कार्यभार लेने के बाद रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने भी अपने मंत्रालय का पदभार ग्रहण कर लिया है. रक्षा मंत्रालय में राजनाथ सिंह पहली बैठक कर रहे हैं. उनके साथ तीनों सेनाओं के प्रमुख भी शामिल हैं. सुबह राजनाथ सिंह नेशनल वॉर मेमोरियल गए थे और उन्होंने वहां शहीदों को सलामी दी थी. वहां भी उनके साथ तीनों सेनाओं के प्रमुख शामिल रहे थे.

गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने अपना कार्यभार संभाल लिया है और देश के नए गृह मंत्री बन गए हैं. उनके साथ जी किशन रेड्डी भी गृह मंत्रालय में उपस्थित हैं जो कि गृह राज्य मंत्री बनाए गए हैं. गृह मंत्रालय में मौजूद अधिकारियों और कर्मियों ने उनका स्वागत किया.
