Alipurduars: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dasrath Tirkey from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 21397 votes. The polling / voting in Alipurduars constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s John Barla and All India Trinamool Congress#s Dasrath Tirkey

Alipurduars 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, RSP candidate Joachim Baxla attained 415006 votes and BJP's Dhirendra Narjinarai bagged 219407 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, RSP candidate Joachim Baxla attained 437371 votes and INC's Pius Tirkey bagged 299561 votes.

  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 85643 votes RSP candidate Pius Tirkey had got 384119 while INC got Denis Lakra votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 30182 votes.
