Uttar Pradesh Govt To Reduce Class 10, 12 Syllabus; Divide Remaining Into 3 Parts

Uttar Pradesh has decided to reduce Class 10 and Class 12 syllabus in its schools. The government will be giving SOP for teaching and evaluation.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to reduce the syllabus of Classes 10 and 12 in its schools because of the coronavirus situation and school education affected by it. ALSO READ | UP Govt To Conduct Only Last Year End Semester Exams In State Universities, Others Stand Cancelled "The government has taken an important decision to reduce the syllabus of the state secondary education board classes by 30 percent due to the coronavirus pandemic," Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said on Thursday. The deputy CM informed that the remaining 70 percent syllabus will be divided into three parts and the classes for the same will be held online or through other ways. "The first part will be taught online or through videos of teachers according to subjects or through Doordarshan. The second part of the syllabus will be self-study and the third will be project work to be completed by students," Sharma said. He added that a standard operating procedure will be given for teaching, evaluation and monitoring. The UP Board of Secondary Education conducts examinations for Classes 10 and 12. Besides, this the UP government announced its decision to cancel all exams in state universities except the final year, end semester assessments.
