UP Police Constable Exam: Over 31 Lakh Candidates To Appear For Exam At 6,484 Centres
In the Lucknow zone, the maximum of 836 examination centres is proposed, with preparations underway to establish 488 centres in the Prayagraj Commissionerate.
Lucknow: The Yogi government has geared up for the upcoming UP Police Constable Exam 2023 scheduled for February. Under CM Yogi's directives, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board have commenced the process to assess the capacities along with the examination centres. As per the proposal, the government can conduct the exam at around 6,500 examination centres. The cumulative capacity of these examination centres will exceed 31.75 lakhs. The selection of examination centres will be based on fundamental criteria. Additionally, centres that comply with the examination building standards have been included in the final list. It is noteworthy that the Yogi government recently issued notifications for more than 60,000 positions for the UP Police Constable Exam 2023. The examination is scheduled for February 18.
Proposal For Examination Centres In Zones And Commissionerates
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has proposed a total of 6484 examination centres in the process of identifying examination centres, with a cumulative capacity of more than 31.75 lakhs. In the zones, 4844 centres and 1640 centres in the commissionerates have been proposed. In zones, the highest 832 examination centres will be in Lucknow, with a total capacity of more than 4 lakhs. 741 examination centres in Bareilly (total capacity more than 3.43 lakhs), 699 in Gorakhpur (total capacity more than 3.49 lakhs), 647 in Varanasi (total capacity more than 3.47 lakhs), 540 in Agra (total capacity more than 2.61 lakhs), 527 in Kanpur Nagar (total capacity more than 2.31 lakhs), 464 in Meerut (total capacity more than 2.39 lakhs), and 394 in Prayagraj (total capacity more than 1.94 lakhs) have been proposed as examination centres.
Similarly, in the commissionerates, the most 488 examination centres are proposed in Prayagraj, with a total capacity of more than 2.25 lakhs. Likewise, in Kanpur Nagar, 271 (total capacity more than 1.05 lakhs), 261 in Agra (total capacity more than 1.23 lakhs), 237 in Varanasi (total capacity more than 1.29 lakhs), 148 in Lucknow (total capacity more than 1.05 lakhs), 127 in Ghaziabad (total capacity more than 58,000), and 108 in Gautam Buddh Nagar (total capacity more than 53,000) examination centres have been proposed.
Recognition Only To Centres That Comply With Fundamental Criteria
All examination centres will be given recognition only after adhering to the fundamental criteria. This will be based on the type of center, whether it is government, government-aided, or private. Additionally, the past performance of the centres will be considered. If any adverse facts came to light during previous examinations or if a school is doubtful, such institutions will not be made examination centres. Moreover, the details of examinations conducted by various selection commissions in these centres in the last three years will also be considered. Coaching institutes will not be selected as examination centres.
The categorization of examination centres has also been done. In category A, all government schools situated within the city, nearby, and adhering to category A criteria are included. Similarly, category B includes all government-funded schools within the city or nearby, while category C includes renowned recognized private and missionary schools, CBSE, ICSE schools, colleges, technical institutions, and universities. Doubtful institutions that have been challenged by any commission or board will not be designated as examination centres.
Examination Halls To Be Equipped With CCTV Cameras
The board has also specified standards related to examination buildings. This includes the seating capacity for candidates and the number of rooms with boundaries and gates in examination centres. CCTV cameras should be installed at examination halls, main gates, and other significant locations. Additionally, a separate room equipped with CCTV cameras is mandatory for storing question papers in the examination centres. Provision for parking near examination centres should also be made. Separate restrooms for male and female candidates will be provided. centres with higher capacities will be divided into sections for administrative convenience.
The examination center's distance from the treasury, railway station, and bus stand is also included in the standards. Officials such as the District Magistrate, Police Commissioner, Senior Police Superintendent, or Chief Nodal Officer will be present for the examination's arrangements. Additionally, the Deputy District Magistrate, Deputy Police Superintendent, or Assistant Police Superintendent will be the Assistant Nodal Officer.
