Commerce Higher Studies Options: 

• CA is the most preferred career option after graduation from B.Com or Commerce. The CA exam is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI). There are 3 level modules of this exam – CPT, IPCC, and Final CA. Apart from B.Com graduates, other candidates can directly appear in the IPCC exam.
• B.Com graduates can pursue an M.Com degree under Higher Studies. This is a 2-year degree, after which students may opt for MPhil or PhD. M.Com is a good option for students going into the field of research. M.Com degree can be taken from any recognized university. Subjects like Business, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, and Management are taught in M.Com. If you are planning to take up the teaching profession you can opt for BEd after M.Com. You can apply for teaching in a government school by clearing TET or CTET.
• Commerce students can also select the MBA option. Students can pursue MBA in finance, marketing, or any other field according to their interest. MBA is the most popular career option among B.Com graduates. Admission to a good MBA college can be taken after passing entrance tests like CAT, XAT, MAT, and MHCET.

Job prospects:

• After B.Com, one can apply for the post of accounts in any company. Every company hires an accountant to prepare the balance sheet of its business. If you have good knowledge of Cost Accounting, Basic Principles of Accounting and Management Accounting then you can get a good salary in the financial sector.
• After completing B.Com, one can also work as an auditor, junior financial analyst, tax accountant, analyst in a consultancy, industrial house or public accounting firm.
