Delhi Schools Reopening: Schools To Remain Shut For Now, As Third Covid Wave Is Imminent: Kejriwal

Delhi Schools Reopening: The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the safety of the students and faculty amidst the covid-19 pandemic. 

Delhi Schools Reopening: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday decided that the schools in Delhi will remain shut. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the safety of the students and faculty amidst the covid-19 pandemic. 

"Not now. Internationally, trends show that the third wave of COVID is imminent. So we don't want to take any risk until the vaccination process is complete," Delhi CM Kejriwal was quoted by ANI on its official tweeter handle.

Classes in Delhi will continue in virtual mode until the vaccination process for the students and faculty is completed in its entirety. Students and faculty are advised to get vaccinated, as it is expected to become a mandatory protocol to attend in-person classes. The schools in Delhi will re-open when the situation arisen due to the covid-19 pandemic will become conducive to conduct in-person classes. 

Meanwhile, various states including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, and many others have decided to re-open schools for class 11 and 12 students.

Schools across the country were closed after the nationwide lockdown on March 24 last year in view of the covid-19 pandemic. Although offline classes resumed from October last year, schools were once again forced to close after the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India that led to the death of the students.
