Centre Committed To Error-Free Entrance Exams, Says Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced reforms for an error-free entrance exam system.

Hyderabad: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday stated that the Centre is implementing various measures and reforms to ensure an error-free entrance examination system. Addressing reporters on the sidelines of an event at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad, Pradhan recalled the challenges faced during the conduct of entrance exams last year. He highlighted the appointment of a high-powered committee led by former ISRO chief K Radhakrishnan to address these issues.

"The committee has recommended several multidimensional reforms, including the restructuring of the NTA, a revamped approach to the entrance process, and considerations for the mental health of appearing students," Pradhan said.

The government has directed the new leadership of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to implement these recommendations, he added.

During a recent meeting with state government secretaries, Pradhan urged states to actively participate in the reform process. Highlighting the diverse nature of state-level entrance exams, he emphasized the need for a unified effort to meet the aspirations and expectations of young candidates.

Pradhan also pointed out the enactment of a new law last year aimed at preventing cheating and malpractices in exams. He assured that stringent action would be taken against those involved in such activities.

"Through administrative and academic reforms and strict laws, the Centre, in collaboration with state governments, is committed to delivering error-free entrance exams for students," he affirmed.
