Children of military and paramilitary forces personnel and also of those who are martyred while on duty will be given relaxation for appearing in class 10 and class 12 examinations this year.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced that the children of military and paramilitary forces personnel and also of those who are martyred while on duty will be given relaxation for appearing in class 10 and class 12 examinations this year. “Students appearing in class 10 and class 12 examinations, who want to change their examination centre in the same city, would be allowed to do so,” read an official notification on CBSE official website. These class 10 and class 12 students will also be allowed to change the exam centre to another city if they wish so. The relaxation by the Central education board comes in the backdrop of the recent terror attack which took place in Pulwama district of Jammu where as many as 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers were killed. “If they have missed their practical examination, the same would be conducted as per their convenience by April 10 by their school. If they wish to appear in any offered subject later, they will be permitted to do so,” news agency PTI quoted Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE's Controller of Examinations as saying. “Such candidates may send their request to schools and schools will further send their request to the concerned regional office for needful action by CBSE,” Bhardwaj added. Apart from this, if any student has missed their practical examination, the same would be conducted by April 10, 2019, as per their convenience by their respective schools. If students wish to appear in the examination in any offered subject later, they will be allowed to do so. The last date to submit such requests to the concerned Regional office is February 28, 2019.
