Delhi Pollution: Air Quality Woes Continue For Residents As AQI Remains 'Very Poor' In City

Delhi Pollution: The overall AQI remained in the 'very poor' category in the national capital on Wednesday morning.

Delhi Air Quality: The residents in Delhi witnessed no relief from the worsening air quality in the city as the overall AQI in the national capital continued to remain in the “very poor” category on Tuesday morning. A fog cover enveloped several parts of the city. The overall AQI in the city was recorded at 331 in the city, as per Central Pollution Control Board data.

The AQI was recorded in the'very poor' range, at 356, in the RK Puram area at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the CPCB. The AQI in Anand Vihar stood at 365 at 8 a.m. According to CPCB, the AQI at ITO was also recorded in the 'Very Poor' range at 335 in the morning. The AQI in Dwarka-Sector 8 was recorded at 326, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium 322, and Mundka 362.

Visuals showed a thick layer of fog shrouding the iconic India Gate on Tuesday, with the visibility reduced significantly.

Earlier, on Monday, the overall air quality index in the national capital was recorded in the 'very poor' category, the CPCB informed. On Sunday, the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am stood at 314 in the 'very poor' category. On Saturday at 6 pm it was recorded as 322.

The city has been experiencing air quality in the range of 'severe' to 'very poor' over the last few weeks. The air quality index from 0 to 100 is considered 'good', 100 to 200 'moderate', 200 to 300 'poor', 300 to 400 'very poor' and from 400 to 500 or above 'severe'.
