Delhi Police Reshuffle: LG Saxena Orders Transfer Of 16 DCPs And 11 Special Commissioners

As per the order, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order Zone I) has been transferred to Security Unit, and Special CP (Crime) will head Law and Order Zone I.

New Delhi: As per an order from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, 25 IPS officers, including 11 Special Commissioners and 16 Deputy Commissioners, were transferred in a major reshuffle in Delhi Police on Friday, reported news agency PTI. LG Saxena issued the order under which special commissioners Dependra Pathak, Ravindra Singh Yadav, and HGS Dhaliwal, along with two Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Police Service (DANIPS) officers, among many others, were transferred.

According to the news agency, the order issued transferred Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order Zone I) Dependra Pathak (1990-batch IPS) to the Security Unit, and Special CP (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav (1995-batch IPS) will head Law and Order Zone I.

Special CP HGS Dhaliwal (1997-batch IPS) has been transferred to Traffic Zone II, Special CP Madhup Tiwari (1995-batch IPS) will head Law and Order Zone II, Special CP SS Yadav (1997-batch IPS) has been shifted to Economic Offences Wing (EOW), and Special CP Shalini Singh (1996-batch IPS) has been transferred to the Crime Unit. 

Special CP RP Upadhayay (1991-batch IPS) will head the Special Cell, and Special CP Sagarpreet Hooda (1997-batch IPS) has been transferred to PCR (communications) and Perception Management and Media Cell Division. Special CP Virender Singh (1991-batch IPS) has been shifted to the Licensing unit, and Special CP K Jagadesan (1998-batch IPS) will head Traffic Zone I. 

Special CP Chhaya Sharma (1999-batch IPS), who is currently heading the Training Division, has been allotted the charge of the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and the Special Police Unit for the North-Eastern Region (SPUNER).

The major rejig also included the transfer of 16 Deputy Commissioners of police-rank officers. DCP Usha Rangnani (2011-batch IPS) has been transferred to the Airport Unit, Sanjay Kumar Sain (2011-batch IPS) has been shifted to the Crime Branch, Manoj C (2011- batch IPS) has been transferred to the Special Cell, and Ingit Pratap Singh (2011-batch IPS) to the Vigilance Unit.

Some of the other transfers that happened on the LG's order were Guguloth Amrutha (2011-batch IPS) to EOW, Devesh Kumar Malha (2012-batch IPS) to New Delhi district, M Harsha Vardhan (2012-batch IPS) to Central district, Rohit Meena (2012-batch IPS) to Southwest district, Rakesh Paweriya (2012-batch IPS) to Crime, Ankit Kumar Singh (2013-batch IPS) to Dwarka district, Surendra Chaudhary (2013-batch IPS) to Shahdara district, and Apoorva Gupta (2013-batch IPS) to the East district.

Pranav Tayal (2011-batch IPS) has been transferred to Special Branch and also given an additional charge of Tech and PI Unit. Similarly, Deotosh Kumar Surendra (2011-batch IPS) has been shifted to Headquarter II with an additional charge of Headquarter III.
