Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead Of 'Kisan Mahapanchayat', Check Routes To Avoid Tomorrow
In view of the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’, police released the advisory to alert the commuters about traffic regulations and routes diverted.
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory in the wake of the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ which will take place in the national capital on Thursday. It will be held at the Ramlila Maidan.
According to the SKM, more than 50,000 farmers from Punjab are expected to attend the event.
In view of this, police released the advisory to alert the commuters about traffic regulations and routes diverted.
According to the traffic advisory, movement of general traffic will be regulated from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Barakhamba Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Minto Road, Ashoka Road, Maharaja Ranjeet Singh flyover, Connaught Circus, Bhavbhuti Marg, DDU Marg, Chaman Lal Marg, Tolstoy Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Jai Singh Road, Swami Vivekanand Marg, Sansad Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, and Baba Kharag Singh Marg.

“Traffic diversion may be imposed from 6 a.m. on Delhi Gate, Mir Dard Chowk, Ajmeri Gate Chowk, Guru Nanak Chowk, Kamla Market road, Paharganj Chowk, roundabout Jhandewalan, Maharaja Ranjeet Singh flyover from Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, Janpath Road, Tolstoy Marg crossing, KG Marg crossing and roundabout GPO,” read the advisory.
Got Delhi Police Permission For Mar 14 'Mahapanchayat': SKM
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has said it has received permission from Delhi Police to hold a 'Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat' at Delhi's Ramlila Ground on March 14, where a resolution will be passed to "intensify the fight" against policies of the Modi Government.
Delhi Police said it has given the permission with strict conditions.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) M Harsha Vardhan said: "We have imposed strict conditions and the SKM leaders have signed an undertaking that they will abide by the conditions," reported PTI.
The umbrella body of farmers' organisations stressed that it would be a peaceful gathering.
"The Delhi Police has issued the NOC for conducting the Mahapanchayat at Ramlila Maidan on 14 March 2024 and arranging parking space and other basic amenities like water, toilets and ambulance with the support of municipal administration of Delhi," the SKM said in a statement, as per PTI.
