The Supreme Court denied Manish Sisodia's bail application in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy case on Monday. Meanwhile, the BJP has said that the Supreme Court judgement demonstrates that corruption runs deep in the AAP and that the Delhi Chief Minister would be arrested soon.
"After this decision, it has been proved that Manish Sisodia and AAP are full of corruption... Now the arrest of top leaders of AAP is near... Arvind Kejriwal too will get arrested" BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwary was quoted by ANI in its report.
The CBI arrested Manish Sisodia in February 2023 for suspected irregularities in the formulation and execution of Delhi's now-cancelled new tax policy.
The policy was abandoned when the opposition accused the administration of wrongdoing. Sisodia is now being held in judicial detention.
According to the CBI, Sisodia played the most crucial and vital part in the criminal conspiracy, and he was extensively involved in both the creation and implementation of the aforementioned policy to assure the attainment of the conspiracy's aims. "We have dismissed the bail plea of Manish Sisodia," the court said on Monday.
