11-Year-Old Boy 'Strangled' To Death At Home In Delhi's Inder Puri, Body Found Inside Bed Box

An 11-year-old child was allegedly strangled to death at his home in Delhi's Inder Puri area and according to his mother, his body was found inside a bed box.

The body of an 11-year-old child identified as Divyansh was found inside a bed box at his home in Delhi's Inder Puri area, his parents and the police said on Friday. The mother has accused the role of a woman behind the child's death. She said she got to know about the disappearance of her son after his dance teacher called and informed her that he did not make it to the class. In this case, the initial probe suggests that the boy was strangled to death before his body was placed in the bed box.

"I was returning home from the office when at 6:45 when his dance teacher told me that he did not come to the class. When I reached home, I noticed it was slightly messed up. A microwave and stool were placed on the bed. Also, the house door was locked from the outside. His (son's) keys were not where we usually place them. But I thought he would be outside so I locked the door and I went out," the deceased boy's mother Neelu told news agency ANI.

"I searched everywhere he goes, his dance class, where he plays, his friend's house. But I could not find him, I called my husband to inform him. I also called my brother. Everybody started looking but we couldn't get any idea where he was," she added.

Alleging the role of a woman, she said her husband Jatindra received a call from the accused saying, "What if I take away the person who you love the most?". Neelu said the woman had been threatening them for four years.

"She was calm, on call it felt like she has already done something. I kept screaming but she didn't tell us anything. The phone got disconnected then I removed the microwave etc from the bed. I saw that all his footwear was at home. I spotted that the bed matrice was not in place. I opened it from both sides. I found that clothes were kept in an untidy manner. When I removed the clothes I found him (son)," the mother informed.

She said her son was found in very poor condition and was rushed to the nearest clinic, but he was referred to the emergency.

"When we took him to the emergency, he was declared brought dead," she said.

After receiving information, the police reached the spot and registered a case. An investigation has been initiated into the matter, the officials said, as per ANI.

Deputy Commissioner Of Police (DCP) Vichitra Veer said that the boy's parents were living separately and the accused identified as Pooja used to frequent their house, but they had strife among them.

"Last night, the Inderpuri Police Station received information from the BLK hospital as per which, a child has been admitted (to the hospital) who was found dead. On the neck of the child, some nail scratches were spotted because of which it was suspected that he was murdered. The police went to the hospital and examined the matter. On the statement of the deceased's mother, we registered a murder case and started an investigation," he said.

"As per our investigation, when Jitendra and Neeru were not there (at the flat), Pooja visited their house. On the basis of this, we are considering Pooja as the prime accused and we are looking for her," he informed.

Preliminary medical examination indicated the boy died due to strangling, police said, according to a report by NDTV.

More details on the matter are awaited.
