Caught On Cam: Man Shot At, Robbed Of Rs 5 Lakh By Bike-Borne Men In Delhi
A 42-year-old man was shot at and robbed by four unidentified bike-borne men in North Delhi’s Roop Nagar area, officials said.
New Delhi: A 42-year-old man was shot at and robbed by four unidentified bike-borne men in North Delhi’s Roop Nagar area, officials said. The injured, identified as Hunny Kumar Kalra, was shot in his right leg and Rs 5 lakh was also looted from him, police said.
The police stated that the incident took place on January 14 in the Roop Nagar area of Shakti Nagar when Kalra, who works at a plastic Granules trader shop at Kirti Nagar, was returning to the office on his motorcycle after collecting payment from a customer.

The unknown men fled the spot on their bikes after snatching the victim's bag of money.

Sagar Singh Kalsi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), said that a call about the incident was received around 6 pm on Saturday, reported news agency PTI.
He stated that upon reaching the spot, the police team found Kalra, a resident of Vijay Nagar, in an injured state and he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
A case has been lodged and an investigation was underway. All CCTV cameras in the vicinity are being checked to identify the accused, the DCP said as reported by PTI.
According to PTI, Delhi recorded over a 15 per cent rise in crime in 2021 as compared to 2020.
As per the report, 5,740 heinous crime cases were reported in 2021 as compared to 2020 where only 5,413 cases were reported. In 2021, 2,87,563 cases were registered under 'other IPC sections' (theft, robbery, burglary), 2,93,303 cases under 'total IPC' (heinous and theft) and 13,086 cases were lodged under 'local and special laws' (arms-related crime, NDPS).
Burglary, robbery, and theft constituted nearly 70 per cent of the crimes reported in 2021, PTI quoted Delhi Police as saying.
