The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory in order to ensure smooth traffic management in view of AAP's PM Modi residence 'gherao' protest scheduled for today.

In view of the Aam Aadmi Party's plans to 'gherao'  Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Tuesday as part of the four-day nationwide protest, the Delhi Traffic Police released an advisory in order to maintain law and order in New Delhi. The AAP workers and leaders had announced to gherao PM Modi's residence at Lok Kalyan Marg to register their protest against the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate.

Delhi Police personnel were deployed outside Patel Chowk Metro station in view of the AAP's PM residence 'gherao' protest today.

As per the Delhi Traffic Police's advisory issued for March 26, "no vehicle will be allowed to halt or park anywhere on Tughlak Road, Kemal Ataturk Marg, and Safdarjung Road." Entry for the general public in the surrounding areas will not be allowed.

The advisory also stated that public entry will be restricted in the areas, and any violations will result in strict legal action, including towing.

"Vehicles found parked on the roads listed above will be towed away and prosecuted for improper parking and disobedience of lawful instructions," the Delhi Traffic Police stated in its advisory.

The towed vehicles will be parked in the traffic pit at Kali Bari Marg.

The Delhi Traffic Police also specified a few diversion points through which traffic will be rerouted to ensure smooth traffic management in the New Delhi area. These include Aurobindo Chowk, Tughlak Road, Roundabout Samrat Hotel, Roundabout Niti Marg, Roundabout Kautilya Marg, Roundabout, Roundabout Teen Murti Haifa, and Roundabout Gymkhana Post Office.

As per the traffic advisory, the commuters have been requested to avoid travelling through a few routes including Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, Safdarjung Road, and Kemal Ataturk Marg to avoid congestion.

The commuters are also advised to "make maximum use of public transport" to ensure safe travel.

The Delhi Traffic Police also stated in its advisory that the people travelling to Indira Gandhi International Airport and ISBT Railway Stations must "carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand."
