1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured In Shooting At Manesar Liquor Store After 'Threat Call' To Owner

One died and two others were injured after assailants opened fire at a Manesar liquor store. The store owner said he was threatened for days before the incident.

A person was killed and two others were injured after two people opened fire at a wine shop in Gurugram's Manesar. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Friday, at a liquor shop at Pachgaon Chowk in Manesar. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared one of them as brought dead, while the other two were critically injured. The liquor shop owner, Kuldeep Singh, said a few days ago he received a call from a foreign number wherein the caller threatened him that he should hand over the shop to him.

As per news agency ANI, the police said that two bike-riding men dressed in white clothes fired more than 15 rounds at the customers and people around the shop before fleeing. The police told ANI the whole incident was captured on the CCTV of the liquor shop.  

"A shooting incident occurred at a liquor shop near Pachgaon in Gurugram, Haryana. Two people fired indiscriminately at the public and customers present during the incident, resulting in one death and one injury. The police are investigating the incident to identify the shooters", Avit Kumar, Station house officer (SHO) of Manesar said. 

During the incident, the staff of the shop informed the police about the shooting, subsequently, a team along with senior officials and a forensic team arrived to begin an investigation. Police recovered 15 cartridges from the spot. The site of the crime showed shattered window panes and blood stains on the floor when the police arrived at the scene. 

Three customers Sandeep, a resident of Bhahila Village in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district, Devraj Sharma and Rajendra Prasad, residents of Alwar in Rajasthan, were hit by bullets and rushed to a hospital, police said, according to news agency PTI. Doctors declared Sandeep as brought dead, they said, adding Sharma and Prasad are undergoing treatment at the facility.

The police said that the reason behind the gruesome shooting will be ascertained only after a detailed investigation. 

The liquor shop owner, Kuldeep Singh, said a few days ago he received a call from a foreign number wherein the caller threatened him that he should hand over the shop to him.

After the firing incident, he again received a call from the same number and the caller claimed responsibility for the attack, Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Bohra Kalan village, said.

"I was at the office behind the liquor shop and came out after hearing the sound of bullets. I shouted at the assailants and they fled the scene. After that I got a call from a foreign number and the caller said it was the consequences of not giving away the shop. The caller threatened to kill me," he said in his complaint to the police, as per PTI.

Police said an FIR has been registered against an unidentified caller and shooters under sections 302 (murder), 307 (murder attempt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Manesar police station.
