Andhra Pradesh: Woman, Daughter-In-Law Gangraped In Chilamathur, Police Launch Manhunt

Four of the assailants then entered the house and allegedly raped the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

A gang rape incident has been reported in Chilamathur Mandal, Sri Sathya Sai area, which has left a family in deep shock and trauma. The attack took place late at night on October 11, when four unidentified men forced their way into the residence of a paper mill worker, where his family of four, including two women, were residing.

According to reports, the family became alarmed after hearing suspicious noises outside their home around midnight. Upon investigation, they discovered five men on motorcycles nearby. When the family confronted them, the men turned violent, attacking the father and son. Four of the assailants then entered the house and allegedly raped the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

The victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment while the police launched a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators. "We are actively investigating the case and will ensure that those responsible are brought to justice," said Chilamathur Police Inspector K. Ramachandra.

Sri Sathya Sai District Superintendent of Police (SP), Ratna, revealed that the family, originally from Bellary, had moved to the area five months ago for employment as watchmen at a paper mill under construction in Nallabommani Palli. The attackers, armed with a machete, tied up the father and son before carrying out the heinous act. The police suspect the perpetrators may have targeted the family after observing their isolated living conditions in recent days.

The police have intensified their search efforts to bring the attackers to justice.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old Dalit girl who was allegedly raped in Pratapgarh has died while receiving treatment at a hospital, police confirmed on Friday. According to Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Sanjay Rai, the victim was held hostage and raped last Sunday. Rai said that the accused tied her hands and mouth, leaving her critically injured in a millet field.

She was admitted to SRN Hospital in Prayagraj, where she succumbed to her injuries, he said.
