Woman, Baby Die During C-Section In UP; Husband Accuses Doctors Of Negligence

A woman and her newborn baby died during a cesarean surgery in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur on Saturday. The woman's husband has alleged that the surgery was performed without his consent. The 35-year-old woman, Yashoda, was taken to a private hospital in the city after she experienced labour pain. The woman's husband Santram alleged that the doctors sent him to get blood and operated upon her in the meanwhile, PTI reported quoting a police official.
Santram alleged that the mother and baby died during the surgery but the doctors did not inform him and referred her to another hospital, saying her condition was serious. The family has alleged that when an ambulance was called and they tried to make the woman and the child sit, they realised that they were lifeless, Baldirai Police Station SHO Dheeraj Kumar said.

Class 10 Girl Hangs Self After Being Scolded Over Love Affair
A 16-year-old girl allegedly hanged herself in the Sikandarpur area in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district after being scolded by family members over her relationship with a man, police said. The girl was found hanging from a fan in a room of the family home early on Saturday.
The girl, a student of Class 10, was in a relationship with a man from another village, Sikandarpur SHO Vikas Chandra Pandey said. The girl's family saw her talking to him during Chhath Puja and scolded her, following which she took the extreme step in the absence of her parents. A police team was dispatched to the spot and the body was sent for post-mortem, the police said.
