A friends' road trip ended on a tragic note after the car they were travelling in collided with a parked lorry in Telangana's Narketpally. Two of the friends died in the accident, while three others sustained injuries.
The incident took place early Sunday morning. Police suspect that the car driver might have failed to notice the parked lorry due to thick fog on the national highway, resulting in the deadly crash, Times Of India reported.
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old C Sangam Sandeep and K Sai Kumar Goud aged 32. One of the deceased was seated next to the car driver, while the other was in the rear seat. The three injured were shifted to a private hospital, the report said citing Narketpally police.

Road Accident Caused Traffic Jam On Highway
The road accident resulted in a traffic jam in Narketpally on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway.
As per the report, the five-member group was traveling to Vijayawada from Alwal when the accident occurred. The impact of the collision is said to be so severe that the car was mangled.
"The lorry driver had stopped the vehicle on the roadside to attend to nature's call. However, due to the thick fog in the morning, the car driver likely failed to notice the parked lorry," Chityal police told TOI.
The car driver managed to survive the crash as the airbags deployed on impact. A JCB had to be brought in to remove the wreckage and clear the traffic jam.
In a separate incident, at least five passengers of a state government bus were killed when a tipper lorry collided with it in Tamil Nadu's Tiruttani in neighbouring Tiruvalluvar district.
Several passengers who suffered injuries were rushed to the Tiruttani Government Hospital for treatment. Police said the tipper driver fled after the accident. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, PTI reported.
