Murder For Free Phones: Flipkart Delivery Agent Was Strangled With Laptop Charger, Stuffed In His Own Bag

They lured the delivery agent into their house and strangled him. The police are still searching for the body dumped in the canal.

Two men who killed a Flipkart delivery agent after ordering smartphones on cash on delivery in Lucknow committed the crime using a laptop charger, police said. The accused stuffed the victim's boy in his bag, used to carry parcels, and dumped it in a canal.

"Akash Sharma and his friend Gajanan Sharma had ordered one Vivo V 40 Pro and Google Pixel 7 Pro from Flipkart on Cash on Delivery. They ordered the phones from their friend Himanshu's phone. The cost of the two phones was around Rs 90,000," police said.

Earlier, it was reported that the men had ordered an iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh. They murdered the delivery boy, identified as Bharat Sahu, because they wanted to keep the two phones without paying the amount. "They lured the delivery agent into their house and strangled him with a laptop charger. They stuffed his body in the Flipkart bag and dumped it into a canal," the police said.

The Victim's Body Is Still To Be Found

The incident came to light after Sahu's family members registered a missing person complaint on September 25 at the Chinhat police station after he did not return home for two days. While scanning Sahu's call details and trying to trace his location, police found Gajanan's number and managed to reach his friend Akash. During interrogation, Akash confessed to the crime, police said, adding that both the phones have been recovered.

The police are still searching for the body dumped in the canal.

"Efforts are on to search for the dead body. We are in constant touch with NDRF, SDRF, and local divers. Gajanan Sharma would be arrested soon. The delivery agent's motorbike has been recovered. The helmet of Akash has also been recovered. Akash and Gajanan both stay in Chinhat. Akash works on carpentry and Gajanan handles plywood works. They are close friends," the police added.
