Kolkata Doctor Death: What Did The CBI Ask RG Kar Ex-Principal Sandip Ghosh On Day 1 Of Interrogation?

RG Kar Medical College News: Ex-principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandip Ghosh, is being interrogated by CBI for the second time regarding the Kolkata doctor's rape-murder case.

RG Kar Medical College News: The marathon interrogation of Sandip Ghosh, ex-principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, continued on Saturday morning as he arrived at the CBI office in Kolkata. He returned home late last night after the first round of questioning. While the exact questions of the CBI officers and Sandip Ghosh's replies are not known, ABP Ananda sources gave a gist of the interrogation.

Sandip Ghosh left his Beliaghata house around 10 AM using an app cab on Saturday. He entered the CGO complex from the rear gate. Ghosh avoided the media glare there and gave curt replies to the journalists' questions.

According to sources, the investigators on Friday asked Sandip Ghosh the following questions:

  • How did he know about the incident?
  • Who informed him of the incident first?
  • What steps did he take after getting the news?
  • Did he go to the scene of the crime immediately after getting the news?
  • On whose orders was the renovation work started next to the seminar hall?
  • Did the police inform Sandeep about keeping the area around the crime scene 'safe'?
  • What was the reason for the hasty renovation works?

The questions about the renovation at RG Kar MCH are significant due to the various versions flying around. Many have alleged that the renovation was an attempt to destroy evidence. There is, however, no clarity on the matter.

The CBI also sought the August 9 duty roster for the chest medicine department from Sandip Ghosh. Earlier, the CBI sought information about the duty roster from Arunabha Dutta Chowdhury, the head of the department of chest medicine.

Outside the CBI office in Kolkata on Saturday, Sandip Ghosh said: "Investigators cooperated yesterday. I won't be able to comment on the matter as the investigation is going on."

He also said that only one person, Sanjay Roy, has been arrested in the RG Kar doctor rape-murder case so far. Sandip further said that he has not been arrested by the CBI and has been only summoned for questioning. "The CBI has not brought me face-to-face with Sanjay. I cannot say anymore," Ghosh said on Saturday.

Sandip Ghosh joined the investigation on Friday when he was brought to the CGO complex by the CBI and questioned for several hours. According to CBI sources, a notice was sent on Thursday summoning Sandeep Ghosh. But he could not attend due to insecurity. Later that day, he was asked by the CBI to come to a place near Salt Lake, from where he would be taken to the CGO complex. Accordingly, Sandip Ghosh reached the specified location along the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass in Kolkata and CBI officers picked him up in a car.
