Delhi Continues To Breathe 'Very Poor' Quality Air, Freeze In Dipping Temperatures
Delhi's air quality remains "very poor," with an AQI of 329 and a layer of smog visible.
The air quality in Delhi continued to remain in the "very poor" category with an Air Quality Index of 329, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. A layer of smog also wrapped the city at various places.
Friday is the sixth consecutive day when the city reported the air quality in the "very poor" category with an AQI of 325 on Thursday.
An AQI between 301 and 400 is classified as "very poor", while levels above 400 are considered "severe". An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor", 401-450 "severe" and above 450 "severe plus".
The Centre's Decision Support System (DSS) for Air Quality Management estimated 21.6 per cent pollution from vehicular emissions. Stubble burning contributed 5.8 per cent of the pollution on Tuesday. But no data was provided for Wednesday, as per a PTI report.

The city recorded its coldest night of the season on Thursday as minimum temperature dipped to 10.1 degrees Celsius. November 21 was the second coldest night of the season with the mercury settling at 10.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather department, smog or shallow fog is likely to engulf the city on Friday evening and night.
Smog Engulfs Mumbai
A layer of smog engulfed Mumbai as well with an Air Quality Index of 130 as per the Central Pollution Control Board. Nanadeep Garden reported the highest AQI at 306. The air quality in the city has slightly improved as on Wednesday, it was 311 and 313 the previous day.
