India An Attractive Investment Destination For Dutch Firms In Semiconductor Industry: Report

India's semiconductor endeavours present significant investment prospects for Dutch firms, with ample opportunities for collaborative research and development ventures between the two countries, a new report by the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and the Netherlands Innovation Network, Embassy of the Netherlands in India, titled ‘Indo-Dutch Semiconductor Opportunities’ highlighted on Tuesday.
The electronics and semiconductor sector in India has witnessed notable expansion, particularly in semiconductor design and product consumption, fueled by government policies and incentives encouraging investments in semiconductor manufacturing. The comprehensive document outlines a roadmap for collaboration between India and the Netherlands in the critical and booming semiconductor sector.
Speaking on the findings of the report, Marisa Gerards, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, Nepal and Bhutan, said, “It underscores our commitment to harnessing the power of technology to solve complex challenges and to creating a world where progress and prosperity are accessible to all.”
The Indo-Dutch Semiconductor Opportunities Report underscores Dutch industry expertise and India's expanding prospects, stressing collaboration in design, innovation, research, technology transfer, startup nurturing, market solutions, and talent cultivation. India targets training 85,000 semiconductor professionals within five years.
Sanjay Gupta, Chairperson of IESA, said, “We hope that this report will inspire and facilitate greater cooperation and exchange between the two countries and enable them to leverage their respective strengths and capabilities to create a positive impact on the world.”
