Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Vs Maruti Suzuki Fronx: No Turbo Petrol?
While the basic dimensions remain the same, the Taisor could be a new look front-end with a different DRL lighting signature along with a new grille plus tweaked bumpers.
Toyota will unveil its next car for India, the Urban Cruiser Taisor and it is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Similar to Glanza or Baleno, Taisor is another rebadged car but it isn't as different as the Grand Vitara or Hyryder.
The Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected have some differences over the Fronx in the styling department.
While the basic dimensions remain the same, the Taisor could be a new look front-end with a different DRL lighting signature along with a new grille plus tweaked bumpers.

It will also get a new set of alloy wheel designs which would make it different from the Fronx. That said, the coupe-like roofline and the rear styling will largely remain the same although colour options would differ.
In the inside, expect minor changes in terms of colours and design with a new upholstery while the basic layout will stay the same.
The biggest difference could be in terms of the powertrains as the Urban Cruiser Taisor could only get the 1.2l petrol with manual and AMT options with the Boosterjet being solely available on the Fronx.

The Fronx comes with two powertrain options with the 1.2l petrol being more popular due to the pricing and the new Toyota could come with that only. The debut will happen on the April 3 and the launch will happen later. Toyota also recently launched the Rumion- a rebadged Ertiga while Maruti has the rebadged Innova Hycross as well as the Invicto.
The Taisor would compete with the line-up of other small SUVs like the Exter from Hyundai plus Nissan Magnite and Tata Punch along with others. We expect a small price increase over the Fronx as seen with the Rumion and other rebadged cars.
