Chhath Puja 2023: Chhath Puja is a special festival in Hinduism ans takes place after Diwali. Although Chhath Puja is celebrated twice a year in the months of Chaitra and Kartik, the one falling in Kartik is considered more significant. This year, Chhath Puja commences on November 17 with Nahay-Khay.

The Chhath Mahaparva lasts for four days, and devotees observe a rigorous 36-hour Nirjala Vrat (fast without water). To provide an overview, Chhath Puja will begin with Nahay-Khay on November 17, followed by Kharna Parva on November 18, Sandhya Arghya on November 19, and Usha Arghya and conclusion on November 20.

Chhath Puja venerates the worship of Lord Surya (Sun God). It is the only festival where, in addition to offering arghya (water oblation) to the rising sun, arghya is also offered to the setting sun. Therefore, understanding the timings of sunrise and sunset during Chhath Puja is crucial.
