Andhra Pradesh: Newly Married Couple End Lives In Prakasam District
Upon coming to know about her death, Mahanandi committed suicide by jumping into the Gundlakamma reservoir at 5 am.
Hyderabad: Newly married couple ended their lives in the Medarametla village of Prakasam district on Sunday.
According to the villagers and the police Mahanandi, a 30-year-old son of Podili Sreemannarayan and Ramanamma, a couple from the Korishapadu zone has been working as a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable in Chhattisgarh. Mahanandi was married to Priyanka, a 24-year-old woman from Mukti Nutalapadu in Ongole.
The marriage was solemnized on December 28, 2021, in the presence of elders. After celebrating Sankranti, Mahanandi left his wife in her hometown and resumed working in Chhattisgarh after getting hitched.
However, a recent notification was released for constables recruitment in Andhra Pradesh. With this, Mahanandi asked his wife Priyanka to prepare for the exams. However, Priyanka reportedly said that she didn't want to work. He insisted on her to start working.

Reportedly, their parents claimed that there was a rift between the two in this regard. Unable to bear it, Priyanka killed herself by hanging on February 4.
Upon coming to know about her death, Mahanandi too ended his life by jumping into the Gundlakamma reservoir at 5 AM on Sunday (February 6). After receiving the information Ongole police rushed to the reservoir and carried out blow-up operations with the help of boats.
Mahanandi's dead body was found in the evening and the police retrieved the body from the water body then.
